English Country Dance

Details
English Country Dancing is a form of social folk dancing that was started in England at least as early as the 1600s, if not earlier. Long lines of couples dance together, performing simple footwork patterns, walking steps, and twirls, following the directions of a caller. Dancing is done to music played by a live band featuring fiddles, guitars, and keyboards. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, as this is a casual, social dance. Lesson is at 6:30, with social dancing from 7:00-9:30. If you’ve ever seen a Jane Austen movie with dancing, this is oretty close to that type of dancing.
Dances cost $10, or $5 for students. Pay at the venue (cash, Venmo, or PayPal).
English Country Dances are every fourth Friday.
