{MOVIE SCREENING} Poly Styrene: I Am a Cliche @ Hi-Pointe Theatre

At its inception, punk was (and still is) very much a white boy's club, but X-Ray Spex were a refreshing exception. They were fronted by Poly Styrene, whose dynamic stage presence and signature wail set the groundwork for riot grrrl. The twist of this film is that explores her life through the perspective of her daughter. The screening is at 8:45pm, but I'll be grabbing a drink at Fox and Hounds (inside the Cheshire) starting at 7:30pm if you want to hang out before the movie.
