Free Outdoor Concert at the Webster Arts Fair!
The Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis
'Love is in the Air' / Ed Jacobs, conductor
Love is in the air as the Metropolitan Orchestra brings its summer concert to the delightful Webster Arts Fair on the campus of Eden Seminary in Webster Groves. Let's bring friends and family, along with a lawn chair and picnic basket. We'll listen as the orchestra takes us on a musical journey of love, including Elgar's "Salut D'Amor," Dvořák's haunting second Slavonic Dance, selections from Bizet's Carmen, and many others. This will be a fun and beautiful concert.
The concert will take place near the Fountain in the Quad on Eden's Campus. Look for our Meetup flag (it will be taken down before the concert) and let's gather in the grass between 5:30 and 6:00 to eat and socialize together before the concert starts at 6:30. Shaded areas grow as the evening arrives in time for the concert.
Attendance at the Webster Art Fair is free as is attendance at the orchestra concert. The Fair includes an array of artists in beautiful campus setting. It's open from 11am until after sunset, closing at 9pm. There are a variety food and beverage concessions available as part of the fair. There are several active music performance areas in addition to the orchestra's performance. There is free parking on Eden and Webster University lots as well as street parking. Here are all the details on the Webster Art Fair.

Program Notes - "Love is in the Air"
“This summer, we’ll explore the idea of love as motivation for a broad range of human behavior. "Our summer concerts are a great opportunity for us to get out into the communities we serve and bring our music directly to our audience. You can bring the whole family, bring a picnic basket, and enjoy a relaxing performance on a beautiful St. Louis summer evening."
