Let's return to the St. Louis Art Museum (SLAM).

The Confluence Chamber Orchestra will welcome the season of serenity and excitement with music of Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Tallis, Waldteufel, Rimsky-Korsakov, and others. This performance will be accompanied by a slideshow of artwork from SLAM’s collection. The concert is part of St. Louis Art Museum's Festive Fridays celebration,

There are no reserved seats for us as a group in the auditorium at SLAM. Tickets to the concert are FREE but are not available until the day of the concert at the Art Museum, starting at 10am. All the more reason to come early.

Tickets to the Art Museum itself are always free. And by coming early, you'll be able to take in the massive Anselm Kiefer paintings now installed in Sculpture Hall and that whole special exhibition (also free). It is receiving worldwide attention. This event takes place on the day after Thanksgiving, a perfect day to come early to the Art Museum and take full advantage.

The music program for this concert includes this reange of wonderful holiday and winter pieces:

  • La Rama - Tradicion Veracruz
  • The Skater's Waltz Emil Waldteufel
  • Antonio Vivaldi - Autumn Quodlibet and Winter Largo - Antonio Vivaldi
  • Holidette for Strings - David Rose
  • I Wonder as I Wander - John Jacob Niles
