This is an unusual and innovative program featuring our internationally acclaimed Arianna String Quartet (ASQ) at the studios of the St. Louis Public Radio station (STLPR). We'll couple this very different experience with an adventurous dining opportunity nearby before the performance.

LOCATION & PARKING
The STLPR studios and offices are located adjacent to our public television affiliate, NINE Network, on Olive St., just around the corner from the Fox Theater in Grand Center. Since the Fox is dark on this Monday evening, parking should be plentiful throughout the Grand Center area.

THE PROGRAM
Understanding athleticism, teamwork, and performance anxiety are important aspects of being a professional musician. These very same challenges are shared by athletes continually endeavoring to be at their best under pressure, whether preparing for the Olympics or the big game.

Let's join the Arianna String Quartet for this special presentation with Dr. Michael Ross, Professor of Psychology at SLU and co-founder of the Saint Louis University Sport Psychological Sciences and Consultation Lab. Through research based conversation and musical performance, this joint presentation will examine the connections between the life of a musician and the latest scientific breakthroughs in performance psychology, finding a ‘flow state’, and other strategies to cope with the stresses of any type of performance, whether in the boardroom, the sports arena, or on stage. How cool is this!?

FOOD ADVENTURE
There's a pretty good chance you've noticed but have never ventured inside the The Best Steakhouse on Grand Ave across from the Fox Theater. And, if you have, you know it is a unique St. Louis experience that everyone should have at some point. The Best Steakhouse is a cafeteria-style restaurant for cooked-to-order steaks, seafood, sandwiches and more. There's a little 'soup nazi' atmosphere at times when it's busy, so be ready to order when they shout out to you while in line. And we'll eat shoulder to shoulder with folks from every walk of life and every notch on the socio economic spectrum. It's fun and you can't beat the prices. Let's be there about 5:15 or soon after to get in line to order.
