Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 is known by all the music world as the 'Emperor.' It is described by some as "the summit of all concerto music ever written." It is amazing to see and hear performed. In this case by the SLSO’s good friend, acclaimed pianist Víkingur Ólafsson in combination with the full St. Louis Symphony.
Also on this program, and dedicated to Music Director Stéphane Denève and the SLSO, Kevin Puts’ Concerto for Orchestra is a complex, beautiful, and satisfying emotional journey. This music resonates in Powell Hall alongside a new work by Chinese composer Jasmine Guo.

Dinner Before the Concert
Those interested can join us for some fun, food and conversation at Gary's Fine Dining, just a block from Powell Hall, across Grand Blvd. We'll meet there early, and be prepared to order by 5:20 to allow their kitchen and team to turn our dinners around and clear our checks in time for us to walk over to Powell Hall well ahead of the concert.
By coming early, you will have a better (i.e. free or lower cost) and closer selection of parking options which is particularly convenient after the concert is over. Also, we will be well into Daylight Savings Time so we have a good probability of a warmer, brighter evening for being active in Grand Center before the concert.
If you don't join for dinner, look for me (Tony) and my Meetup sign (see picture) inside the Grand Lobby of Powell Hall at 7:00 or shortly after.
Contact me directly using Meetup Messaging if you have any questions or issues. I will post my ticket location in the comments for your reference.
