St. Louis Philharmonic - Summer Pops Indoors
Details
The very entertaining Dr. Christopher Kelts is the special guest conductor for this annual POPS concert which also serves as a fundraiser for this fabulous orchestra. This is always a relaxed and fun Friday evening event for the orchestra and for our Meetup members.
The concert will be at the lovely Purser Center on the campus of Logan Chiropractic University. As usual, we will enjoy reserved seating as a group at General Admission prices of $20. Important: be sure to add "Symphony Meetup" in the comment field of the online order form.

Please join us for dinner and conversation before the concert. We'll eat at the Yellowstone Grill just minutes away from Purser at about 5:30. It's reasonably priced and relaxed and they take good care of our group. If you can't make dinner, we'll meet you at our seats a little after 7:00. Our seating section will be marked as reserved for the Symphony Meetup. Either way, please keep your RSVP up to date.
This concert highlighting "Heroes and Villains" will be a collection of recognizable pieces that include some great melodies from stories and characters we know.
- Man of LaMancha
- Star Wars
- Lord of the Rings
- Bond ... James Bond
- South Pacific
- Armed Forces Salute
- And more!
It's always a treat to see and hear these pieces performed by a powerful orchestra. The Philharmonic will fire them up for us. There is a raffle to conduct the Philharmonic playing "The Stars & Stripes Forever" ... you can bet I'm buying a raffle ticket.
There is free lighted parking on campus at Logan. There are typically coffees and snacks available before the concert and at intermission. Feel free to invite family and friends to join us to help get this orchestra off to a good start to a new season.
The Philharmonic will have a different guest conductor for each of its 6 concerts in the year as Darwin Aquino has left the orchestra for other pursuits, including Opera Theater of St. Louis. It should be a good experience for us to experience concerts with a variety of conductors. In this instance, we already know Christopher Kelts is the real deal.
