AT THE FOREFRONT OF AMERICAN DANCE
For more than half a century, Ballet Hispánico New York has been a major force in American dance. Founded in 1970 by National Medal of Arts recipient Tina Ramirez, Ballet Hispánico New York grew from a vision to celebrate the beauty of Latino cultures through dance into the nation’s leading American Latino dance company and the largest cultural institution of its kind in the United States.
The Program
The evening of performances will honor Latina women shaping the future of contemporary dance with MUJERES: Women in Motion, showcasing three powerful choreographic voices from across the Americas:
Cassi Abranches's Trança (Braid)
Stephanie Martinez's Otra Vez, Otra Vez, Otra Vez (Again, Again, Again)
Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's Línea Recta
