Syncthing

An Unexpected Journey; When the Software vendor Vaders the solution.
or how I learned to use Syncthing when Plex decided to stop doing its job.

Abstract:
It is a tale as old as computers. A Computer Wizard comes along and shows how they can make your life easier and all you have to do is pay them. Then a few years later, ok 6 years later, they up and say that some other Balrog is a better use of their time. This is how I replaced the Camera Upload function in Plex with the Syncthing Process.

Bio:
Tyler Rudie is the Lead Code Monkey for Siemens Industry Software Accounts Department. Yes my code touched your user account when you got hired. He currently spends his days abusing the Python and Powershell so he can take long naps at work. So far no luck, management and coworkers keep finding him things to do. Demonstrating the core economic principle of unlimited want way to well. He has a bad habit of using overkill in most of his projects. One of these days he will get back to his Photography and Astrophotography hobbies.

The Saint Louis MO, STL Linux Users Group (STLLUG) meets monthly to talk about Linux. This GNU/Linux Users Group usually holds its meetings on the third Thursday of every month. Meetings are free and open to everyone.

We start gathering around 6:00 PM. At 6:45 PM we start with introductions, announcements, current events of interest, and a general CALL FOR HELP segment. Then we will go into the presentation of our main topic, sometime around or after 7:00 PM.
