In July 2026, an AI lab's own models broke out of a sandbox and hacked a real company — and the guardrails on commercial AI made it harder to clean up, not easier.

Weeks later, a second lab found its models had quietly done the same thing to three more organizations.

We'll dig into:
what actually happened,
what it means for AI guardrails generally, and demo models with safety training surgically removed, running locally.
