Open Dialogue // Becoming Cyborgs
Details
We might imagine cyborgs as futuristic human-machine mashups, but in a sense, we’re already living as hybrids. Glasses enhance vision, cars extend mobility, phones expand memory, and medicine alters biochemistry. Algorithms shape what we see and desire and choose. And now AI can write our essays, book our flights, or step in as an advisor when we’re deciding which job offer to take.
How does our deep entanglement with technology reshape identity, agency, creativity, and what it means to be human? When does augmentation become dependency and assistance become influence? In what ways do human–technology relationships deepen flourishing, and how can they diminish it?
This conversation will be free-form, which means it might meander into adjacent topics. No need to prepare or bring anything but your curiosity and an open mind.
