Study Circle // Finite & Infinite Games
Details
Overview
As creatures living in a complex world, we’re at play all the time, whether we realize it or not. The question is: what kinds of games are we playing, and how are they shaping our lives and the world around us?
Over three, two-hour study circle sessions, we’ll unpack insights from the book “Finite and Infinite Games” by James P. Carse. It’s a compact but profound philosophical work that offers generative ways of understanding how we’re showing up in the world, and why.
No prior background in philosophy is required (just curiosity and an open mind).
Each session will have some structure, but this isn't meant to be a lecture series or traditional class. It’s more of a shared inquiry where we can explore multiple perspectives and connect the ideas to our own experience through open-ended conversation.
Schedule
We’ll meet every other Monday from 6:45-8:30pm starting on June 8, 2026.
- June 8
- June 22
- July 6
Each session will build on the previous one. Attending all three sessions will help create continuity in the conversation and allow the group to go deeper together over time.
