Open Dialogue // Memory, Time & Identity
Details
What makes you the same person you were yesterday?
“Memory” you might say. You can remember your past, imagine your future, and weave those experiences into the story called "me." Yet memory is anything but simple. It’s selective, creative, and constantly changing. Every act of remembering reshapes what is remembered.
But perhaps memory isn't just something that happens in minds (human or otherwise)? How does a forest remember a fire? How does a city remember its history? How does a family or community carry memories across generations?
Living systems are shaped by their histories. The past doesn't disappear; it leaves traces that constrain and enable what comes next. What if memory is an active force in the present just as much as a record of what has been?
