We gather again this Thursday at 6:30pm at: The Hangar Restaurant
on the second floor (there is an elevator in addition to stairs)
540 1st St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

It's gonna be cooler again this week - under 60F and a little breezy outside, so I've asked for us to again be seated INSIDE -- possibly at the tables next to the stairway, on the far side away from the bar. I've emailed Brandi (the manager) and will send an update email when I receive a response.
Are you familiar with NPR's daily "Up First briefing" emails? I was not, but I've just now subscribed (subscribe here - the Up First subscribe box is near the top right). I think it's a great quick summary of news, and one can dive more deeply if desired.
A collection I like of links to current news is Google News since it makes it easy to peruse a number of topics and stories and quickly jump to whatever is of interest. That said, my normal routine is to start with Reuters news (since it is considered very neutral/ objective), then (in no particular order) The Guardian, Washington Post, NPR, BBC.
I also suggest having a look at Ground News. Ground News shows you the bias / sources for a given story and also recommend stories for those on the left to read (things that come from rightwing sources) and things for the right to read (articles from leftwing sources); I pay $9.99 for a subscription since I don't need their fancier options.

Please note that several "regulars" show up most weeks, and therefore do not RSVP. Don't worry if you are new and only see a few RSVPs if you look at Meetup :) Anyone is welcome (as long as they are civil), and we talk about pretty much ANYthing -- some of which is political and plenty that is just life in general :)
