Paddling at Weedon Island Preserve

Details

Lets go paddling on the south trail at Weedon Island Preserve! Whether you are new to paddling or are a seasoned expert, all skill levels are welcome.

The south trail is a 4-mile loop that meanders through mangroves and seagrass flats and between islands of the preserve and along the edge of Tampa Bay. Expect to see wading birds such as reddish egret, roseate spoonbills and white ibis.

  • Admission to the preserve is free
  • Parking is available in the Culture and History Center lot.
  • Kayaks, Canoes, and Standup Paddle Boards (SUP) can be rented on-site through ECOmersion or you may bring your own.
