NY Japanese Women Jazz Composers (NYJWJC) is aiming for a cultural exchange and understanding through the presentation of a mixture of Japanese culture and the American music of jazz interpreted by five Japanese women composers.

Ms. Migiwa, a member of NYJWJC, is a pianist and composer of Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. The Orchestra regulary plays at Village Vanguard, the sanctuary of NY Jazz scene. Ms. Migiwa is defintely the one who is leading the cultural exchange between NY and Japan.

We, SAKE+, sympathized with the concept, and decided to collaborate together. We will present three different kinds of sake from One-ten (百十郎). One-ten is the one of the sake which Ms. Rieko Hayashi has created and directed from beginning. She had to visit all over Japan to promote, and through so many try and error, now, One-ten has so many varieties in kinds, and because of smooth taste and vivid label design, grab Sake-Lover’s heart and get a following, not only in Japan, but US and UK as well.

We believe One-ten is the perfect sake to get along with the event concept, and to find the perfect matching between different Jazz and Sake. Enjoy exploring the new possibilities between SAKE and JAZZ!
