Wildboarclough 11 Mile Walk Sun 6 April

PLEASE NOTE THAT MOST MEMBERS OF SWAG DO NOT DO MEETUP HENCE THERE WILL BE FEW ATTENDEES LISTED HERE. ALL WALKS ARE HOWEVER WELL ATTENDED

The long walk this Sunday starts from Clough House car park, Wildboarclough, Macclesfield, SK11 0BD and takes in 3 shires head, over to Axe Edge moor, down to Goyt Moss and back to the start - 10.5-11 miles , total ascent 2117 feet, ( 3 moderate climbs). The walk is on bridleways, paths , short sections of quiet roads , plus 2 major road crossings.

Meet at Brooklands station approach at 9am for 9.10 departure.

Distance to Clough House car park 24 miles , approx 45 mins

Walk to start at 10 or shortly after

Route suggestions

M60 leave at Exit 3

A34 towards Cheadle

Take A555 slip road towards Buxton

Stay on for 2 miles

Take A 523 towards Macclesfield and my preferred option is to turn off at Byron’s Lane, left on Langley Road, left onto Standing Stone Road for 3miles and a slight right onto Clough Road, then left into car park .

There are no toilets at the car park or on the walk
