Sunday Short Walk Sunday 4th May
Dunham Park from the Stamford Arms Pub Bowdon

My walk is a pleasant amble from the Stamford Arms pub in Bowdon to Dunham Park via Green Walk.
It's a Bank Holiday weekend so I expect the park to be busier than usual.
Please meet as at Brooklands for 9:45 with a view to car sharing and prompt departure at 10am.
We will start walking at 10:30 am approximately and the walk duration is about 3 hours.
I will meet you at the start

We will drive to the start point which is :
The Stamford Arms Pub(car park behind)
The Firs Bowdon

The Walk:
This is a pleasant 6-7 mile flat walk down Green Walk, across Dunham Road and walking through Dunham Golf Course to reach Charcoal Road.
We go over the stile into Dunham Park and walk clockwise taking in the flora/fauna and natural beauty of this local NT property.(NO membership cards required)
Once we reach the Hall and Stables restaurant we will try to sit on the 3 benches currently available for our elevenses/early lunch break before returning counter clockwise back to the Stamford Arms Pub.
There are toilets here and an opportunity to buy ice cream and a little further away is the cafe which serves takeaway and sit down fare.
The only known hazards on this lovely country walk are other walkers , crossing Dunham Road which is VERY busy and pesky golfers of both sexes!
If you normally use poles and wear gaiters please carry on this fine tradition!
The Stamford Arms pub serves excellent beer/wine and refreshments and pub grub so I fully anticipate lots of folk popping in here after the walk
NO DOGS on this occasion as there are usually lots in the park already!
Please text me if you are going straight to the start
Kind regards
