Ramsbottom 10 mile walk Sunday 4 May

Sunday 4th May Long walk, Burrs Country Park
Meeting at Brooklands at 9am to set off at 9.15am. 19 Miles to start point. Please let me know if travelling straight there so we don’t start without you. ( 07731 453868)
A 9.5 mile circular walk, with a total ascent of 1025 feet, grade C Walk. Car parking is free in a choice of 3 car parks, try to get into Jubilee Car park near the chimney. If not there is an overflow carpark. Unfortunately there is a park run every Sunday which starts at 9.30am so it will be busy, so please try and car share if you can. I will be meeting at Brooklands.
The walk starts at 10am from the chimney, there is an outside disabled toilet by the Tearooms, I have a radar key if this is locked.
Walking from Burrs Country Park , starting along the Irwell Sculpture Trail along well trodden paths and cobbles taking in many pretty waterways and rivers. The walk takes us through Summerseat, Ramsbottom, Shuttleworth, Harden Moor, Nangreaves and Baldingstone. Three stiles and plenty of gates, mostly level with a few inclines. The coffee stop, at Nuttall Park has toilets and picnic tables. Lunch later on can be before the steep incline in a community garden or after it on Harden Moor sat on the grass. After the steep climb onto Harden moor the walk levels out before heading back down through Nangreaves and Baldingstone . Refreshments at the Brown Cow pub by the car park or The Lamppost Tearooms.
Directions From Brooklands tram stop, head down Marsland road towards the M60 at Stretford, turning left onto the M60, exit M60 at junction 18 follow the signs for M66 Burnley/Bury. At junction 2 exit towards A58/ Bury/Heywood. At Heap bridge Interchange take the 2nd exit onto Rochdale Rd A58, Exit the roundabout onto Rochdale Rd A58. Keep right to continue on Crostons Rd/ B6213. Use the middle 2 lanes to continue on Crostons Rd/B6214. Turn right onto Woodhill Rd. At the roundabout continue straight to stay on Woodhill Rd. Head for the Chimney, park where you can.
