Hi All,

I will be doing a 10 mile walk from Dunsop Bridge in the Forest of Bowland. Grade D, approx 210 metres (689) feet of ascent/descent

The walk will involve some road walking along quiet roads, some stony paths and some steep gradients. The second half of the walk will be alongside the river back to Dunsop Bridge.

Please meet at Brooklands in time to leave for 9.00 am.

The directions are as follows:

1. Follow the M60 clockwise (past the Trafford Centre)
2. Leave the M60 at junction 18, taking the first exit from the roundabout onto the M66 towards Burnley.
3. Continue onto the A56,
4. After 2 miles take the slip road continuing on the A56 towards Burnley (avoid going straight ahead onto the A682 to Rawtenstall)
5. At the roundabout where the road crosses the M65, head straight across (second exit) onto the A6068. From this point follow the signs to Clitheroe.
6. Turn left at the second set of traffic lights following the A671 (still following the signs to Clitheroe) Then right onto the A59 (still Clitheroe)
7. Turn left onto the A671 into Clitheroe and continue through the town centre. The roads bears left by the Royal Oak pub, then go straight across the next roundabout following the B6478 towards Waddington.
8. Go straight on at the next roundabout (second exit) then shortly after this the main road turns sharp left, but you need to go straight on (actually a right turn) under a railway bridge, following the signs to Waddington.
9. Continue for a further five miles on the B6478 through Waddington to Newton in Bowland.
10. Turn left in Newton in Bowland for 2.5 miles towards Dunsop Bridge
11. Watch out for Dunsop Bridge Car Park on the right on entering the village (Pay and Display).
