10 Mile Walk Combs Sunday 8 Feb

This starts from the Beehive Inn, Combs SK23 9UT and does a 9.5 mile loop around Fernilee Reservoir. I have done this walk before, it is mainly established tracks, but will also have some extended ascents and descents. There will be stiles and likely to be muddy in places if the wet weather persists.

Please meet at Brooklands at 9.00 am or outside the Beehive Inn in Combs at 10.00.

Directions are as follows:

1. From Brooklands, go across Sale Moor, turn right onto the M60
2. At junction 3 turn right onto A34 towards Wilmslow, the left onto A555 towards Buxton.
3. At the end of the A555, turn right onto A6 to Buxton.
4. After about 8 miles turn right at roundabout onto A5004 towards Whaley Bridge.
5. Pass through Whaley Bridge, then turn left onto B5470 towards Chapel-en le Frith. The junction is about 1 mile after the A6 roundabout.
6. After about 1 ½ miles turn right to Combs
7. Park at the roadside by the Beehive Inn. There is also a small car park on the left hand side, about 300 yards after passing under the railway bridge. There is a small fee for this.
