Hi All

My walk next Sunday is a moderate 9-mile walk starting from Congleton Station (postcode CW12 3DE), following paths and tracks along Congleton Edge to Mow Cop folly, and returning along the Macclesfield Canal.

It's a D-grade walk as there are a couple of short but steepish inclines on the way up to Congleton Edge, but the majority of the walk is fairly level, with fantastic views across Cheshire to North and Mid Wales and Shropshire on a clear day.

Please follow these directions from the Sale area:

M60 Stockport
A34 Cheadle and Wilmslow exit.
Continue along the A34 into Congleton, then:
A54 Town Centre/Buxton
A527 Biddulph.
Continue on this road uphill for half a mile then turn left into Ayrshire Way and the station car park is immediately on the right.

All-day parking is £3.30 but there's free parking on nearby side roads.

The walk will start from the station car park at 11am.

Dogs welcome if kept on leads. No loos at the start but a couple of miles into the walk we pass a pub which should be open (for a loo-stop only!)

We'll have a couple of stops for coffee and lunch on the walk. Drinks afterwards at the nearby Queens Head pub.
