Looking for something special to do to celebrate Winter Solstice? Celebrate the Eve of the Winter Solstice with Dances of Universal Peace, a potluck and a ritual in Salem at the UUCS (5090 Center St., Salem, OR). Come for part or all. Dance leaders from around Oregon will be leading dances.
Saturday, December 20, 2025, the day before the Winter Solstice
3:30-5 pm Dances of Universal Peace
5-5:50 pm Community potluck
6-7:30 pm Winter Solstice ritual and more dances
7:30-8 pm nibbles
8:00 pm Dances of Universal Peace jam (Request a dance - participants have the opportunity to request their favorite dances)

Experience the revitalizing and healing energy of music, spiritual song and movement. This activity has four levels of participation. One can sit and enjoy the activity, sit and sing, sit and sing and participate in seated movement, or participate in group singing and movement. Many of the songs use chants, melodies, or sacred phrases from spiritual traditions around the world including indigenous and earth and nature-based spirituality. Movements are simple circle dance movements. All song and movements are fully taught and range from meditative to lively.
Please bring water bottle for personal hydration. Please note that this event is advertised in multiple venues, so the number attending in Meetup does not indicate the number of participants. Diversity of spiritual traditions represented in songs intended to promote appreciation of spiritual traditions different from our own, with the aim of promoting peace, with understanding prevailing over intolerance.
