Janice Vogtle joined Global Affairs Canada (then DFAIT) in 1999, and
has since served in a variety of capacities both in Canada and at posts
abroad, leading multi-sector teams.
She most recently served as Investment Counsellor and Trade
Commissioner at the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom
and Northern Ireland (2016-2021); Consul and Trade Commissioner
(2012-2016) and Vice Consul for Public and Economic Affairs (2000-
2003) at the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong; and on
temporary duty at the High Commission of Canada in Accra, Ghana
(1999-2000), In Canada, she has served as Desk Officer in the West
Africa Division (1999-2000); Trade Commissioner for Aerospace, Defence and Security (2004-
2007); and Deputy Director for Investment, Innovation, and Services for Ontario Region (2009-
2012). Janice graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science, received her Master
of Environmental Studies from York University, and is a Certified International Trade
Professional (CITP).
