Milky Way at Mirror Lake (Friday)

Here is the Meetup for Friday night. The original one is still on for Saturday, but since I am going to be up there multiple nights, I decided to host one Friday as well.

The dates are: Friday, August 2nd, 2019 and Saturday August 3rd, 2019. This meetup is for the Friday night event.

Friday Night’s shoot will likely be further from the highway and will likely have some hiking. So be aware of that. I do not know the location(s) yet as I will be scouting them during the day. Depending on the location, it might be a single spot if we have to hike a bit to get to the location. Note that I am not a hiker and get winded going up stairs. So it will not be some power hike. Just a location that I have never been before and a little way off the beaten path. I hope.

On Friday Night, Astronomical Twilight ends around 10:27 PM and the Moon will set about 10:08 PM. We have until around 2:30 AM until the core drops below the horizon. Likely even less time with us up in the mountains and the mountains getting in the way. Expect about 3 hours of optimal shooting.

Therefore on Friday, we will head out about 9:15 PM (ish) to our location. Wherever it is.

We will meet up at the Mirror Lake parking lot as that is an easy place to find.

I will be heading up Thursday afternoon and will be camping until Sunday. So if the weather turns, I will not be able to cancel the event because there is no service up there. Unless the weather is so bad it chases me home.
