What we’re about
SLC Mindful Hikers is for people that love nature, like to move their body, connect with others, and are interested in implementing mindfulness practices and breathwork more regularly into their lives. Hikes include guided meditations and breathwork to improve your strength, lung capacity, energy and mindfulness skills. Along with hikes, I'll offer online and community yoga, breathwork, and mindful events.
-----
Hike Basics
- Hikes typically take place on 1 weekday evening and 1 Saturday morning a month, and range from about 1 1/2 - 3 hours, with longer ones on the weekends. They are usually in the foothills above SLC and Millcreek, but can also be in Park City and in the Cottonwood Canyons based on interest.
- These hikes are accessible to people who are at a moderate aerobic fitness level +.
- Each hike includes a brief initial breathwork session at the trailhead to begin to expand lung capacity, with mindfulness and breathwork practices along the way that are focused on cultivating strength, calm and awareness while we move our bodies.
- Hikes take place year round.
- You are responsible for dressing appropriately for the weather (microspikes are suggested in the winter), and packing your own water and snacks.
- Please RSVP. I will show if 3 or more people RSVP yes. A $5 + donation is greatly appreciated, and can be paid via venmo or cash.
About Me
I am a SLC local of nearly 2 decades, and have explored the trails by foot and skis all over the Salt Lake foothills and canyons, rain, snow and shine! I am certified in health coaching, integrative somatic trauma therapy, and Vinyasa, and Kundalini Awakening yoga. I have a 25+ year career in business development and corporate training, and now bring yoga, meditation, breathwork and wellness education to companies and individuals. I love bringing simple tools to others for creating freedom and wholeness through their own body wisdom.

Enjoy this 4 mile out-and-back trail in Sandy, where we will meander through the trees up Heughes Canyon alongside a little river and then veer left onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail where we will have sweeping views of the Salt Lake Valley. We will travel about 2 miles out, and rest at an outcropping to enjoy a guided meditation, and breathwork before turning around and heading back to the trailhead. Elevation gain is 1,062, with the gain mostly happening in the first mile, then with rolling hills along the BST trail.
