This is a casual, friendly open mic at a popular neighborhood bar. Mostly acoustic music, but open to comedy or spoken word. 21+. No cover charge.
Please read the expectations below. You will probably find answers to your questions:
OPEN MIC EXPECTATIONS
## Time & Equipment Guidelines
- -3 songs not exceeding 15 minutes per set (including set-up)
- -Basic equipment provided: 2 mics, 2 instrument cables, PA
- -Be tuned and ready when your set begins
- -No house guitar or music stand available
- -No drum kits allowed (hand percussion ok)
- -If you brought your own amplification, clear it with the host
- -If you use backing tracks, bring own playback devices and cables
## Performance Guidelines
- -Suitable genres: folk, blues, country, soul, pop, etc. (covers & originals welcome)
- -Avoid yelling, screaming and songs that are long and repetitive.
- -Avoid material that would make a reasonable staff or patron uncomfortable
- Avoid material that is long and repetitive, or uncomfortably loud/grating/ obnoxious
- -No political diatribes or religious preaching
- -Must be reasonably sober during your performance
- Note: This is a casual venue, not a listening room
## Respect & Etiquette
- -Don't play along with performers unless invited on-stage
- -This is an open mic, not an open jam
- Keep phone audio off during performances
- -Be courteous to staff, host, and performers
- Please support the venue with food/drink purchases
