Spanish 2013

¡Saludos a todos mis amigos que disfrutan la idioma español!

Are you ready to set some language learning goals for 2013?  Es importante decir others about what you plan to accomplish in order to hold yourself accountable.  Mi meta primaria para el año proximo es aprender el subjuntivo.  I also plan to record a video early in the year to show my current understanding of the subjunctive, and then record additional video(s) during the year to show my progress and to keep my self accountable to ustedes!

My holiday gift to you all this year is this link: If you don't know about Benny the Irish Polyglot, it would be worth your time to check out his site This guy picks a new language to learn just about every 3 months, and then focuses during that time on getting to conversational competency.  He preaches "speak from day one" and have fun along the way as opposed to getting bogged down in nothing but boring grammar study.  I have never actually bought his Language Hacking Guide, which he sells for about $100, but his site has loads of helpful information and community forums that are very active.  He also is very well connected to the worldwide polyglot community, the people who are dedicated to learning multiple languages.  In any case, the video in the link above was just released, it is a bunch of polyglots singing in various languages (all subtitled in English) that seeks to encourage you to get online and find a language partner through Skype.  I have done this in the past, and it is very easy to find people all over the world who want to practice English in exchange for helping you practice Spanish.  Enjoy the video.

Lastly ... new city … new year … new adventures ... time for a new email address!  I have switched to [address removed] for my new email address, so please update your contacts file because I will be deleting my old email address before too long.

¡Que le vaya bien siempre!
