Imagine the following:

You are a Software-Developer (or SW-Architect) and a customer asks you to design a system. In an Architecture-Kata we will try to model this new system with pen and paper.

The Kata will have the following phases:

• Preparation: Getting your project team together (3 - 5 people)

• Discussion Phase: Figuring out what you're building and how you would build it:
• Do we use a Fat-Client, a mobile app, a web-page, a host-system or all of it to solve the client's needs?
• How do several parts of the system interact with each other?
• How should we handle potential (high) load on the system? Which parts are scalable?
• How do we handle security related issues?
• How could the system be developed? What do we do first, what last?

• Peer Review Phase: Presenting your architecture and approach to the other groups
• Transport the idea of your architecture in 10 minutes
• Get challenged by the audience

Details:
• The customer will be simulated by the host.
• The concrete implementation does not matter (e.g. we don't want to dive into class or database diagrams. The idea of the approach and the solution matters!)
• Technology should only matter if it REALLY solves the problem (e.g using a Graph-Database solves issue XYZ)
• Focus on (non) functional aspects of a system

For this session no Laptop or other technology is required. You will work only with Pen&Paper or on Whiteboard/Flipcharts!

Spoiler: Your customer will be a traditional business that wants to open new opportunities in a sustainability area. Help your customer building a new business around this idea!
