AI in Software Development Kata

Details
Modern GPT/LLM tools feel like getting a promotion. All of a sudden everybody gets a whole department of intelligent assistants that can do boring work 24x7. They are sometimes naive, but they also never complain or get bored.
As software engineers, how can we leverage this potential and make the most of the promotion?
The theoretical part of the meetup will be short and focus on reviewing insights from the successful daily uses of ChatGPT/Github Copilot. In the practical session, we’ll be building a tiny full-stack application. Or rather, letting an LLM build it for us :)
The Kata will have the following structure:
- Quickly review cases - we go through a series of samples that demonstrate how ChatGPT/LLM can handle some mundane tasks. 20 min
- Organisation - We group into small teams, to test-drive these approaches. Grouping is based on the availability of ChatGPT/Copilot subscriptions. We discuss possible product ideas to implement in the kata.
- Iteration 1 - your team gets hands dirty, discovers patterns that work and patterns that don’t work.
- Break
- Review results - each team shares the results, moments of awe and frustration. This is the moment of cross-pollination for the ideas.
- Iteration 2 - armed with the new ideas, we try to get AI to finish implementing our product idea.
- Wrapping up - sharing results, gradually transitioning to the nearest place dedicated to consuming drinks and discussing ideas.
