**What will we do?**
How can you split some larger refactoring into small, safe steps? One way to do it is the "mikado method". In a nutshell, it works like this:
\- Just try the larger refactoring
\- Write down everything that is preventing you from doing it successfully
\- The first thing that is preventing you is now your larger refactoring
\- Repeat the process

Sounds simple, right? Well, it always does, until one has to do it. So, in this meetup, we will try the method together, so you will get a better idea of how it works and whether it can be useful for you.

**What to bring**

* Curiosity about improving and refactoring your code base
* Openness to share and learn with a partner
* Your laptop, with a checked out version of this repository: [https://github.com/dtanzer/babystepstimer](https://github.com/dtanzer/babystepstimer)
* Ideally you prepare the [characterization-tests](https://github.com/dtanzer/babystepstimer/tree/characterization-tests) branch using Java
* In case you don't get Java to work on your machine pick a version of the other languages prepared in the repository!
