Detroit Atheist Meetup (DAM 2.0)
Details
Join us early, starting at 6:00 PM for food and drinks.
Meeting begins at 7:00 PM or shortly thereafter.
Arriving late? No problem.
In the spirit of the original DAM (Detroit Atheist Meetup), DAM 2.0 will again infest Logan's in Roseville for our next gathering! It's THE place for atheists, agnostics, non-theists, anti-theists, rationalists, freethinkers, nones, pastafarians, heretics, skeptics, infidels, nonbelievers, non-religious, secularists and their friends to get to know each other, discuss our mutual concerns, keep tabs on upcoming events, and learn new things together. Our continuing mission: to retain the best of the original DAM meetups with an eye towards promoting allied groups, ventures or activists within the secular community. And, hey, the food ain't bad either!
Because our open discussion ran long last time, we're once again carrying over our Question of the Month: Religion always dominates any discussion when it comes to death and dying. Come join us as we ponder the cheery question: How do we view, deal with and ultimately face death?
On a more cheery note, we'll have a lot of good NEW information including an update from SAM (the "central hub" of our growing local secular community), updates on past and upcoming events and activities, more cool SWAG, and enjoying the company of your nearby godless friends. Hope to see you all there!
This event is FREE to attend.
We would love your help! Your donations make it possible for us to continue providing excellent programs on a regular basis. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and helps us continue to offer these events for free. If you are able to contribute, please do so. All donations are welcome and will make a difference. You can donate in person, or online at https://secularalliance.org/index.php/donations. Thank you for your support!
We invite all members of the public to join us at this event. However, we kindly ask that everyone who attends behaves in a respectful manner and refrains from disruptive behavior. We reserve the right to ask disruptive attendees to leave, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Come join us as we ponder this month's question: what should the response of the secular community be to the takeover of hospitals by religious organizations? Plus, lots of good information, a presentation or two and hanging out with your local godless community! Hope to see you all there!
