Join the Secular Advocacy Initiative
The Secular Alliance of Michigan invites atheists, agnostics, Humanists, skeptics, and secular advocates to join our Secular Advocacy Initiative. Help us bring secular perspectives to local government and celebrate the contributions of nonreligious individuals in shaping our society.

How It Works:

  1. Meet & Plan: Join our virtual meetings to help coordinate our efforts and choose council meetings to attend and which topics to present.
  2. Speak Up: Volunteers are encouraged to speak during public comment sections at local government meetings. We can provide guidance and pre-written speeches to help you articulate your thoughts.
  3. Engage & Learn: Every summer, join us at the state capitol to directly engage with state officials, broadening our impact.

Make a Difference! Your voice is crucial. Speak at city council meetings, spread the word about civic opportunities, or simply show your support. We offer guidance and help for every participant, regardless of experience.

Why Join?

  • Represent secular identities and viewpoints.
  • Receive support and enhance your advocacy skills.
  • Influence public policy and decision-making.

Join us in making a tangible impact on how secular views are represented in governance. Together, we can foster a more rational and inclusive community.
