What we’re about
Are you agnostic or atheist but still crave a sense of community on Sunday mornings? Join us for Sunday morning breakfast where we can connect over great food and meaningful conversations with like-minded people. Let's create a welcoming space for those who seek connection outside of the church.
Note there are similar groups in San Antonio that are focused on learning more about Secular Humanism, and discussing topics related to freedom from religion, recovering from religious trauma. This group is all about savoring delicious food and connecting with people who appreciate a casual, open conversation where phrases like ‘God willing’ or ‘I’ll pray for you’ are politely left at the door. We’re here to laugh, share stories, and just shoot the breeze over a plate of pancakes—no agenda, no pressure, just breakfast with good company!
I've created this group because I myself have been searching for a community of like- minded folks in San Antonio, and am tired of hanging out in groups where I am afraid of sharing who I am because of the social stigma around being an atheist. I personally have a goal of meeting and making new friends in San Antonio myself, but I also want to do my part to facilitate a community where others can make new like-minded friends as well.
Right now, this group is for both singles and couples to make new friends. Maybe it's naïve of me to think we can do both in one group, but we will start there and see how it goes! I know that finding good couple friends is a unique challenge in its own right.
Note, to create an environment that is conducive to good conversation, and participation, the even sizes are currently limited 8-10 people. If you'd like to attend, but the event is full, please join the waitlist so I have an idea of how many wanted to attend. If there is consistently a big waitlist, we may split into regional groups, or I can appoint an alternate host so we can have more meetings.

See all- Secular Sunday Brunch at SnoozeSnooze an A.M. Eatery , San Antonio, TX
Hey! This is the first event that Pam and I host. We wanted to try a brunch format, as some of us would rather get up a bit later on Sunday morning. Snooze has great breakfast/brunch/lunch options as well as a full bar. We'll be meeting at the Snooze at The Vineyard located at Blanco Rd & Loop 1604. There's plenty of parking available. We are planning to make reservations the day before (Saturday 5/24), so make sure you confirm if you're planning to join us. See you there :)
