We will take a mostly off trail walk in rocky Edwards Plateau habitat in North Central Bexar County. We will make observations for the City Nature Challenge project of the Citizen Science website, iNaturalist. Photos of the plants, butterflies, birds, insects, etc that we encounter will be added. For those who are not members, they can help with location of plants and fauna. Individuals can leave as needed to meet time constraints.

Good hiking shoes or boots required due to the rocky habitat. Long pants are highly recommended. Long sleeve shirt would be helpful to prevent potential arm scratches. Binoculars will be very helpful in locating butterflies and grasshoppers. The walking distance will be around a mile. We will walk from the parking area behind AutoZone Auto Supply and Top Gun Car Wash on the frontage road of US Hwy 281 just before the light at Encino Rio.
