🎵 1st Mon Jam-A-Theme we celebrate Simon & Garfunkel ! 🎶The duo started in the mid-1950's as folk-rock duo Tom and Jerry (of all names). Their big break came in 1964 with the electric version of The Sounds of Silence. Their fame then soared with contributions to the film The Graduate in 1967 and then even more when they won 6 Grammy Awards for their 1970 final album, Bridge Over Troubled Water. They split in 1970 with Paul Simon pursuing a super successful solo career and Art Garfunkel going into acting. They got together for a massive 1981 Central Park reunion concert, and in 1990 were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame having sold over 100 million records. The duo remains one of the most successful folk-rock duos of the 1960s and one of the all time most popular recording duos.
The second half, of this ALL INSTRUMENTS JAM, as always, will be musicians' choice, from a large SongBookPro collection of songs from all decades, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's. There's something for everyone's taste. AND we LOVE it if you stretch your wings and join us at a mic to lead or help lead. It's FUN!
IF YOU HAVE THE APP SONGBOOK PRO (by Jonathan Salmon) MESSAGE THE LEADER FOR THE SETLIST IN SBP FORMAT.
🎶 General Info about 1st Monday Jam Oasis: JAM-A-THEME, hosted by Karen Riley, who's extensive SongBookPro library (SBP) is sorted by themes. Every first Monday we’ll spend the first half jamming on on a fun theme. Then after the break we’ll open it up for participant requests. Music and lyrics will be projected. All acoustic jammers, no host band, ALL INSTRUMENTS and voices welcome. We LOVE when people come up to a mic and help lead a song, but it’s not required. Join us for some musical jamming joy! 🎵
