About us
We are a peer-led organization providing opportunities for meditation and learning the dharma through Vipassana style meditation (also known as Insight Meditation). We welcome new and experienced participants from diverse backgrounds. Our intention is to cultivate mindfulness, wisdom, and compassion for the benefit of all beings.

BIPOC Affinity Meditation Group
First Unitarian Universalist Church, 4190 Front Street, San Diego, CA, USThe BIPOC Affinity Group is for individuals who self-identify as people of color. Our purpose is to deepen our practice and explore the teaching of Dharma together in an inclusive and safe environment that embraces and celebrates our diverse voices and shared experiences, cultivating a sense of belonging, validation, and togetherness. If you do not identify as a person of color, we kindly ask that you join one of our other group.
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 6:00pm. You must sign up on our website to join and get more information.

Buddhist Meditation Sitting Group - San Diego Central
First Unitarian Universalist Church, 4190 Front Street, San Diego, CA, USJoin our group for a morning of meditation and study at our weekly sitting. We explore traditional Buddhist topics such as the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, the Hindrances, the Three Characteristics, heart practices, etc. through talks given by senior Vipassana teachers from Spirit Rock, Insight Meditation Society, Insight Meditation Center, and other Vipassana centers. We meditate together, listen to a dharma talk, and share our thoughts on the topic.
This group is open to new and experienced meditators - anyone interested in personal insight, understanding the causes of suffering, and learning how to live in a way that brings happiness.
