R Meetup Aug 17; 1. R5 (new OOP system) and 2. accessing public genomic data

Details
This month we will split our meeting between two topics: 1) The R5 Object System, newly standard in R 2.12, and 2) Accessing Public Genomic Data Using Bioconductor.
Details:
Our speakers will be Scott Wallihan and Derren Barken.
We will be serving pizza, so please RSVP on the meetup website to help us get an accurate headcount. Thanks!
Our first topic will be the new R5 object system, which is standard in R 2.12 and up. R5 provides reference classes, supporting object oriented programming in the style of languages such as Java and C++. We will explain how R5 relates to R's previously available object oriented facilities such as S3 and S4.
Our second topic will be accessing genomic data such as NCBI GEO (Gene Expression Omnibus) and SRA (Sequence Read Archive, for next-generation sequencing platforms) using software from the Bioconductor project. This talk is inspired by / based on the BioC 2011 conference talk of the same name given by Sean Davis.
