#### The Impact of Cables and Connectors on Radio Frequency and Microwave Measurement Uncertainties
When developing these high frequency measurement systems and evaluating system performance, it is common to consider the warranted equipment specifications. However, the error contribution of cables and connectors to the system uncertainty is overlooked. Impedance mismatch is typically the largest source of measurement error and is largely influenced by the cables and connectors used within the system. This presentation provides an overview of commonly used cables and connectors and discusses some of the errors associated with them. The impact of these errors on overall measurement system uncertainties is discussed. The presentation finishes with some practical examples and real world applications to help guide participants in the selection and use of cables and connectors and more accurately assess system performance.

#### Harmonics and Inter-harmonics: Testing Real-World Complexity with AC Power
Modern electrical systems rarely operate under “ideal” conditions. Harmonics and inter-harmonics—often hidden but highly disruptive—can cause nuisance breaker trips, overheated transformers, blown fuses, and unplanned equipment downtime. Replicating and capturing these effects in the lab is critical to ensuring products perform reliably in the field.
Join this session to uncover the fundamentals of harmonics, why odd vs. even matters, and how advanced AC power sources and loads can both simulate and measure harmonics and inter-harmonics. Learn how proper testing and measurement help you prevent failures, protect uptime, and keep systems running smoothly.
