Details

PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE RSVP! Hope to see you there!

There were only five responses to the poll I published. My concern is that most of the group never even saw the poll, because meetup.com uses email exclusively for notifications and there’s no reason for me to expect that everyone here actually looks at their emails. At any rate, it’s all I have to go on now so I’m scheduling a new meetup for 7pm Thursday evening, December 8th. The topic will be organizing to do a half-day shoot to produce a short film. Depending on who attends, we’ll cover the basics of organizing a quick shoot including staffing, location, budget and logistics.

The idea is to organize something relatively easy to commit to. There's more to discuss about that but it can wait for the meetup.

Location will either be at a residence in La Mesa or at a public area in my apartment building in East Village. Group members who RSVP will get to weigh in on location preference.

If you have a script you’d like to be considered for the project please hew (strictly!) to the following rules/constraints:

  1. The script must be in standard screenplay format, maximum 8 pages in length (less is more). PDF, Microsoft Word, or Google Docs are all fine.
  2. Include a logline for the script. Max 35 words.
  3. Submit via email attachment or link (no later than December 4) to [submissions@insaneapricot.com](mailto:submissions@insaneapricot.com)

Here are the loglines for scripts I intend to offer for consideration:

  • Smile!: A coworker gets put in his place after making a sexist comment in a team meeting. 4 pages
  • Hot Dog: Two fresh immigrants get a surprise with their first meal in America. 4 pages
  • A New Pair of Genes: A person is invited to participate in a mysterious study involving genetics and discusses it with their parent. 6 pages
  • Agoraphobia: A peson struggling to leave their home seeks help in a phone call. 4 pages
  • Giving Blood: Two roommates have a frank and humorous discussion about donating blood. 2 pages
