Hi everyone! We’re heading to the spring Renaissance Faire. Once more, we’re traveling to years past. Grab your temporal portal gun and set the time to the 16th century. We return to a time where dragons flew freely in the skies, a time where royalty ruled the land and their influence spread for miles, but most importantly, a time where fuzzy animals warped back into from their present day to run around with costumes and foam swords.

Different from most our normal meetups, the Escondido Renaissance Faire meetup integrates our community with a number of people who also have niche and fun hobbies. It can be a bit of a more crowded event, so parking can be a challenge; arrive earlier for a better chance of a parking spot. This event has gradually gotten MUCH larger over the years and it is not uncommon for parking to run out. The faire opens at 10am, so consider arriving before that if you want a closer parking spot. Carpooling is greatly encouraged! Contact your friends and try to arrange a plan if you can.

There are multiple food options and vendors inside of the park, so be sure to bring a decent bit of spending money. Tables and benches are located right by the food stands, and those usually have a lot of extra space there for us. As far as the vendors go, expect to see wares befitting the age of Renaissance era. Replica swords, costumes, jewelry, spell books, and more. Keep your coin purse in check though! The SDF cannot be held responsible for funds that go missing due to stealthy rogues or trickster magicians.

We are planning a group photo for the Renaissance Faire! The plan is to head out around 4 PM and find a location within the park for a photoshoot to commemorate our surviving of the ages past. From there, we’re firing up the temporal portal gun again and returning to 2026 to go eat at a fine establishment fit for time travelers like ourselves – Red Robin. Let’s finish off the day strong with some good eats.

FURSUITS:
Fursuits, like Renaissance costumes, are all more than encouraged! The event guests are always excited to see what people bring to dress up in. Keep in mind that we will not have a fursuit lounge! If you bring a fursuit, you are responsible for carrying and transporting it. In and out privileges are permitted so long as you get a stamp on your hand at the ticket booth when you enter, so storing your fursuit in a car is an option. As always, please remember to hydrate! We don’t want to see any of you passing out.

PROHIBITED STUFF:
If you are going to bring a sword or knife as part of a costume, it must be in a sheath and zip-tied as per the event regulations. The dragons are not for slaying and the princesses are more than capable of taking care of themselves. Hi everyone! We're going over to Kearny Park for the meetup this month!

Please bring SUNSCREEN, WATER, and anything that you think would be fun! We tend to have plenty of water bottles on our end, and we all go through them quickly. Hydration is important!

Toward the end of the meet, we'll be taking a group photo, and everyone is invited to join in. Fursuiting is of course encouraged; we'll have our suit lounge available onsite, though if it's warm that day, it's up to personal discretion whether or not to suit. By no means are suits required, everyone is welcome!

The meetup ends at 1700 (5:00PM PST). After that we may search for a place that can fit all of us for a nice dinner together. Never anything too expensive, so don't worry! An announcement will be made at the event if we decide to go anywhere. Keep your ears perked for talk of an after-party as well! We usually have one planned, and we'd love to see you guys there as well.
