Golden Friends: A place for the young at heart to meet!

Join Golden Friends on Monday morning at the Fleet Center in Balboa Park. This is a monthly event on the first Monday of every month and sponsored by the Fleet Science Center. Although this is a no host event, Golden Friends are encouraged to attend for a stimulating lecture and to view the monthly IMAX documentary, all for the discounted price of $10 for those 65 or better!

Sharp Minds is the sponsor of the monthly lecture and they publish the current lecture topic on their website. Check the Fleet Science Center website for the IMAX Documentary that will be showing that day after the lecture. Lunch with other Golden Friends is optional afterwards.

Join Golden Friends at Mission Bay on Bastille Day! This day symbolizes the start of the French Revolution and the people's fight against the monarchy.
It honors the courage of the French people who fought for their right to democracy, expansion of legal rights and freedom from tyranny.

Meet at the Pohutukawa in front of the Superbloom Cafe, formerly the Mission Bay Visitor Center. There's plenty of free parking in the adjacent lots.

Pack a light lunch; bring your drink; and don't forget your chair and a lawn game if you'd like to share! Let's enjoy sunshine, friendship, laughter, and the beautiful blue waters of Mission Bay.

Spend the morning on the beautiful Coronado Island for a walk along the boardwalk and then lunch at Garage Buona Forchetta across the street!
Let's meet our Golden Friends on the corner sidewalk at Garage Buona Forchetta (10th & C Streets) and walk an hour, smell the fresh summer morning air & delight in positive conversation. Then we'll return to the restaurant for pizza, pasta & a Spritz!
