Stress, Pleasure, & Social Connection:
How the Brain Reacts to Emotion to Shape Behavior

Saturday, April 25, 1:30 - 3:00 pm
University Community Library, 8820 Judicial Drive, San Diego 92122

Dr. Stowers focuses on basic neuroscience in determining how the brain creates and responds to emotion. She got her PhD at Harvard University and then joined Catherine Dulac’s lab as a post-doctoral fellow to study how the brain determines the basic rules for surveying both the external environment and one’s internal physiology to decide on appropriate behavioral action. In 2002, she started working at the Scripps Research Institute, where she remains today as a Professor of Neuroscience.
