April - Ortega Highway Cooks Corner
Details
It's that time of year again for our annual Ortega Highway Ride!
Date: Saturday, April 11th Meeting Time: 9:30 AM
We'll kick off the day with a brief IMRG meeting to discuss exciting future rides, such as our upcoming trip to Durango Rendezvous.
Kickstands Up (KSU): 10:00 AM
Please ensure that you arrive with a full tank of gas. Given that the ride from El Cajon to Cook's Corner spans approximately 121 miles, it's advisable to indulge in a hearty breakfast to keep your energy up. Or perhaps, indulge in some extra donuts to fuel your ride.
We'll make a scheduled pit stop for refueling in Temecula, conveniently located off Clinton Keith Rd. Our chosen route will take us through 67N, 52W, I-15, with an exit at Clinton Keith Rd, followed by a gas stop on Grand Ave. Then, we'll venture along Ortega Hwy - Westbound, providing a refreshing change of scenery.
Our route will lead us to Ortega Hwy-74, taking us to Antonio Parkway, culminating at Cook's Corner, situated at 19152 E Santiago Canyon Rd.
Depending on the pace and timing, there's a possibility of adding a visit to Dana Point on the return journey. Alternatively, we can opt to head south on the I-5 back to San Diego or venture east again via Ortega Hwy. We will make every effort to navigate around traffic and toll roads for a smooth ride.
As a helpful tip, there's a Shell gas station conveniently located at I-5 & Ortega.
We look forward to riding with you in April!
Safe travels,
Art & Jeff
