Abstract:
Invented by Dr. Roy Fielding, a principal author of HTTP and the cofounder of the Apache web server project, Representational State Transfer (REST) architectures have taken over the world of web services. RESTful web services leverage the power of the very same HTTP operations familiar to many of us to provide interoperability between different applications.

This talk will cover RESTful concepts and benefits and provide examples of REST operations. Additionally, we will demonstrate the use of Spring Boot to create a RESTful web service, and lastly integrate SpringFox to use Swagger/OpenAPI to provide documentation and testing of such web services.
