We Want You To Teach Java

Details
High School students can learn Java in AP Computer Science at schools all over San Diego county, but what they are lacking is the wisdom, experience and battle scars of a experienced programmer like you.
In this session, we will talk about how you can get involved in teaching Java to middle and high school students, even if you only have an hour to spare.
The LEAGUE of Amazing Programmers has been teaching 5th through 12th grade students Java for almost 20 years, and recently we've expanded the program to free introductory lessons in the Tech Club and more advanced topics in Code Clinic. These short classes allow professional programmers to introduce students to Java, or help them develop more advanced techniques, with just an hour commitment.
Some of the classes that you could teach:
- How to set up a new Java Project
- Getting started with Java in Github Codspaces
- Introduction to Java databases
- Introduction to generics
- All about Streams.
- Introduction to Java records.
If you would like to share your knowledge and experience on these intermediate Java topics, please join this session.
