Learning SQL Queries -- Understanding Advanced SQL Features, plus CTEs and Temp Tables
* Note: we are taking two weeks off for Thanksgiving, and this session will be on December 6th.
SQL is a useful skill for data scientists which often appears in job descriptions and interviews. The SDML book club will be meeting Tuesdays for an introduction to writing SQL queries. This series will focus on the practical side of writing SQL to pull data out of a database. We will be using the book Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes by Ben Forta (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0135182794/) as our primary source. This series is open to beginners and has no prerequisites.
This session will cover lesson 22 about database constraints and indexes. We are going to supplement the book with material about CTEs and Temp Tables. Overviews for these topics can be found here:
