What we’re about
Welcome to the Official San Diego Mahjong Club! We’re a friendly, inclusive club of Mahjong enthusiasts. Our primary format is Zung Jung (ZJ) (pronounced zhung young) — a balanced, beginner-friendly Mahjong variant. It’s similar to both Hong Kong (Cantonese) and Riichi (Japanese) styles of Mahjong. We also play both Riichi and International Mahjong, but ZJ is our go-to variant.

Pitchers Sports Bar, 9926 Carmel Mountain Rd, San Diego, ca, USThis is an experimental event at an experimental location to gauge demand for a Mahjong event during the middle of the week.
Please bring your friends and join us for a fun night of drinks, friends, and Mahjong! Everyone is welcome at Mahjong Night, whether you are an experienced player looking to scratch your Mahjong itch or a new player who wants to learn how to play this classic game.

At Ease Games, 8400 Miramar Rd, 250, San Diego , CA, USJoin us for an exciting and challenging game of Riichi (Japanese) Mahjong! Everyone is welcome, but this event is designed for players already familiar with the basic rules of Mahjong.
New players are welcome to give it a try — just know that Riichi is one of the more complex Mahjong variants and has a steeper learning curve than other styles. If you’re up for the challenge, we’ll be happy to have you at the table!
If you’d prefer a more beginner-friendly introduction to Mahjong, check out our Mahjong Night event, where we play the easier-to-learn Zung Jung format.
We also provide a Riichi cheat sheet to help you along — [click here to access it].
