Change of location and itinerary still FREE PIZZA after!! Mt Laguna-Pioneer Mail

Details

SDMBA trail maintenance on the Laguna Rec Area, Noble Canyon Trail and surroundings have been graciously supported by Cal Coast Bicycles for countless years.

Cal Coast Bicycles will have more swag to hand out throughout the year!

Location: Pioneer Mail trail head off of Sunrise highway approximately 2 miles past Penny Pines trail head. Adventure pass required. Take I-8 to Sunrise Highway. Pioneer Mail trail head is approximately at the 29.5 mile marker along Sunrise highway.

We will be trimming brush overgrowth and fixing drains and correcting water flow off the trail.

As a special thank you to all volunteers, we will have pizza from the Outpost and drinks afterwards. The Lost Abbey and Mike Hess Brewing have graciously donated adult beverages!

Bring own snacks and water, work gloves, protective eyewear, covered footwear.

No walk-ups. We take your RSVP here as a confirmation that you will show up. If something unexpected comes up or you feel ill before the event, please email Brian at suzuki727@yahoo.com so we can fill your spot.

Cell phone reception is spotty at best at the trail head. Usual travel time from La Mesa to trail head is approximately 1 hour.

Inclement weather or unsafe conditions will cancel this event. Updates will be posted in comment thread on this page.

OTHER GUIDELINES:
-If you are feeling sick stay HOME!
-Volunteers will keep a minimum of 6 feet of distance between each other before beginning trail work. When we start working, we will maintain at least 10 feet of distance during physical exertion when possible.
-Bring your own mask and work gloves. An extra handkerchief recommended for sneezes, coughs, and snot rockets.
-Sanitize frequently
-If you have a favorite tool, bring it. Don't share it with others.
-Adults 18 and up on this event

We have worked with our land manager partners to ensure that all volunteers and staff will commit to these protocols in order to ensure the safety of everyone during COVID-19. The public health crisis changes almost daily, so there may even be times that we are canceling an event the evening before - in that case we will let registered volunteers know by 8:00 pm the prior evening.

We appreciate your dedication and commitment to safety during this time. Please email me directly if you have any questions - Brian Suzuki at suzuki727@yahoo.com
