A summer gathering to reconnect with Oakoasis and each other.

What has changed, and what has quietly stayed the same?
As we return to Oakoasis Preserve, we’re invited into the deep stillness of the season.
The green of spring has given way to ochre grasses and sun-warmed stones. The oaks hold their quiet strength, and the trail speaks softly, asking only that we listen.
This walk is part of our ongoing conversation with place—a continuation of our relationship with the land, its shifting seasons, and the part of ourselves that longs to slow down and reconnect.
Whether you joined us in spring or are visiting for the first time, you are welcome here.
We will begin with a grounding practice and an offering to the land, honoring the ancestral presence of the Kumeyaay people. You are welcome to bring something simple and heartfelt (a stone, a flower, a breath, or a quiet intention of gratitude)
We’ll move slowly through the chaparral and oak woodlands, letting silence guide our attention. Along the way, there will be gentle invitations to engage the senses and notice what this summer landscape is offering—its textures, its stillness, its quiet resilience.
The land in summer teaches us about resilience, patience, and rest. Come prepared for warmth, with water, sun protection, and a willingness to be present with the heat and the hush it brings.
Along the way, we’ll pause to return to breath, stillness, and the wisdom of the body—gently tuning into the senses. From this place of presence, you’re welcome to share what arises, if you feel moved to do so.
We look forward to walking with you!
